The new town as the spinal role of futuristic city is to create Vital Green city harmonizing with residence, commercial, mixed use. The masterplan has been analyzed with the relationship between city and residence with mixed use commercial facilities.
To define street life and retail activities, the masterplan introduces the linkage between spaces and reinforces territoriality of each use group.

Hwasung dongtan Mixed-use Complex
The design of the Hwaseong Dongtan Mixed-Use Complex is based on the simple objective to collect and focus the people and their energies on a multi-level garden based shopping and entertainment place where people of all ages can comfortably spend the day shopping alongside nature. Through this consolidation of the people and the marriage of the central park with the retail
experience we will provide the people of Hwaseong Dongtan a memorable and endearing place that they will cherish

CREATE A LANDMARK REGIONAL ATTRACTION
This project will be noteworthy for the quantities and qualities of the retail and entertainment spaces first and foremost. While the residential towers will be tall and visible, it is the retail that will reach out to the public and bring them all to this place. To this end we have given the central experience a physical embodiment in the form of a roof trellis that defines the space and place. This trellis will provide a diffused light throughout the year as well as serving as an armature for seasonal displays and celebrations. In addition to the functional provisions the trellis will serve to unify the northern and southern parcels into one comprehensive whole. Through this engagement of the public into this place the complex and the town itself will become a landmark for the people of the area.

CREATE AN IMAGE OF PLACE THAT IS CURRENT AND TIMELESS
To create a place that will endure in time, we have rendered the buildings in simple and elegant forms that appear stable and comfortable. These forms will be composed of stones, metals and a variety of translucent glasses in a very simple manner.
The Architecture will serve as the background for the activities and the natural elements of the place. Through this suppression of the Architectural vocabulary, the people and the park will serve as the face of the place and, along with that changing cast, the ability to renew and rejuvenate over time. This ability to rejuvenate over time will also be reinforced by the strong central form that will control the identity while allowing a variety of activities at the edges to grow and modify over time.
